# Service Broker > Independent, no-commission broker that cuts Australian small businesses' tech and subscription costs: email, Microsoft 365, hosting, domains and web/IT support. Free 15-minute cost check and audit, then a move to cheaper, equal-or-better cloud services where it makes sense. No lock-in. Run by Colin Dixon (40+ years in Australian tech), Mallacoota VIC. Trading since 2007. ## How Service Broker is paid Service Broker audits, recommends and sets up services on leading business cloud platforms. The client signs up and pays the provider directly at the provider's published prices. Service Broker takes no margin or commission on subscriptions; it is paid only for setup, care plan and IT time, so its advice stays independent. ## Services and prices - Free subscription audit (starts with a free 15-minute cost check). - Email moves: staff who mainly use phone mail move to a state-of-the-art cloud provider, with mail from about $1.50 per user per month (vs about $10.50 on typical entry-level Microsoft 365 plans). Microsoft 365 is kept where it earns its keep. - Domain takeover and management: $49 per year per domain, renewal included, best-practice DNS and email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). - Websites: one page first, built for Google and AI search visibility. - Care plans: $59 or $159 per month. - IT help: $120 per hour. All prices in AUD. No GST applies. Provider prices are typical published prices, paid directly to the provider (per user per month, annual billing, Oct 2026). ## Illustrative example (not a specific client) A typical trade business with 20 staff: office staff keep full Microsoft Office; field staff move to lower-cost cloud mail; domains are consolidated at $49 per year each; small changes are covered by a care plan instead of per-change fees. ## FAQ ### How do you get paid? Only for our time: setup work, care plans ($59 or $159 a month) and IT help ($120 an hour). You sign up and pay any provider directly at their published prices. We take no margin or commission on subscriptions, so our advice stays independent. ### Do I have to switch providers? No. The audit often finds savings without switching: unused licences, plans that are bigger than you need, or doubled-up services. We only suggest a move when it saves you money and is just as good or better, and you decide. We keep Microsoft 365 where it earns its keep. ### What does an audit involve? A free 15-minute call about what you use, then you send us recent bills or invoices. We list every tech subscription you pay for, what each really costs per month, and what you could change. You get a short written summary with the savings and any risks. There's no cost and no obligation. ### How do I book? Pick a time that suits you at https://calendly.com/colindixon, call Colin on 0419 415 000, or email colin@servicebroker.com.au. The first 15-minute cost check is free. ### Will I be locked in? No. Accounts and domains are in your name, and you can leave any of our plans at any time. ## About Colin Dixon has 40+ years in Australian tech: PDP systems from the late 1970s, founded Veritas Computers (1986), ran OZ On Line ISP (1990s).
