Hi, you win some and loose some, here is how you move your Domain ( for .au Domains)

You need to keep in control of your domain name, here's how to do it.

http://mywebname.com.au is where to go to see who owns the name, look for the ownership and the

• Registrant: needs to be you


• Registrant Contact Name: needs to be your email address

To change things you need the Domain Password which is available from http://www.auda.org.au/ WARNING: see below


other things to note are the

• Registrar Name: this will be the Service that I am a dealer for and the


• Name Server: this is normally ns1.oze.net.au which directs to my Name Servers

http://domains.ozol.net.au is my site where you can change the contact email and name server, for example if you have a web developer who is designing your web site and he runs his own Name Server and Hosting Server Your hosting and email settings are defined via the Nameserver  https://oze.net.au:8443 You may or may not have a login for this site, just ask if you want one, but take care it is easy to mess it up here.

I normally setup Google Apps for most domains  http://mail.ozol.com.au/ This does the email and a lot more click on the above link for more information.

Hosting links ( this may be relevant also) http://oze.com.au/cpanel this is needed if you are hosting with me and need to make changes to your web server

But most customers just need the login for their web site, and their email.

WARNING: if you are selecting a new web hosting supplier and they don't know all of the above find a different one. You can tell if they tell you they need the domain password. When you want to change to me, I ask what is your domain name I then ask you if the email address I look up is yours, and then tell you to forward the Domain password I have just had emailed to you to me at colin@ozol.com.au
